Meet the Cheer Team Coach  E-mail

Eric Anderson is a graduate of UC Riverside with a Health Science degree. Before coming to CSULB in 2001, Eric had been a member of the teaching staff at Century High School since 1991. In 2000, he was named California Coach of the year. From 1999 to 2001, Anderson choreographed the cheer team at University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Under his direction, the team was nationally ranked in the top 10 in Division 1A category. In 1999 and 2000, he choreographed for the University of Nevada, Reno spirit team leading it to a national top 10 Division 1A ranking both years.

In all, Eric has won more than 30 national championships with several teams and was a "National Coach of the Year" nominee for the National High School Cheerleading Federation. Eric has also choreographed and judged for other highly known competitions, such as Miss Fitness America and ESPN 2 Series. In addition to his work at CSULB, Eric is serving as advisor for the new Chinese Cheerleading Federation.

 

 

 

We are excited to welcome a new addition to our Long Beach State Cheer program. Michelle Hardaway brings years of experience and fresh insight to the program.

Michelle Hardaway  received her B.S. from UCSD and has over 10 years of experience in competing nationally, judging and coaching Michelle’s style ranges from Jr. High to College level cheer. With her positive energy and vibrant personality over the past five years, Michelle has collectively won over 20 titles ranging from UCA, USA, NCA, and Sharps International. Currently, Michelle works as the assistant commissioner for a youth basketball league and runs a youth cheer clinic in the city of Long Beach.
