ASI Commissions  E-mail

We are looking for  students to be a part of 2010-11 commissions.  AS Commissioner positions are still available.  Please contact Kimberly Helm in the office at 562.985.2535 or visit www.csulb.edu/asi.

The AS Commissions' main purpose is to plan, coordinate and execute specific programs and services for the CSULB student body at large. Each Commission is lead by a student representative (Commissioner) who has been appointed by the AS President and confirmed by the Senate.

With a wide variety of activities including Community Service, Entertainment, Special Events, Sports and Spirit, and more, the Commissions are the perfect place to start your AS involvement! The Commission meetings are open to all CSULB students and meet throughout the semester on a regular basis.

Commissioner responsibilities, benefits & compensation:

  • Each Commissioner will serve as the lead representative for his/her designated Commission (see below for list of Commissions)

  • Commissioners are required to hold a minimum of 3 office hours per week, plus Commission events

  • Commissioners must attend bi-weekly group Commissioner meetings and individual Commission meetings (TBD)

  • Commissioners each receive a $200 scholarship per semester, access to office space/supplies and invaluable personal/professional development

* If you missed the nomination period to become a Commissioner and still want to be involved with one of the Commissions as a "Commission Member," there's still time! Click below for more detailed information:
