Essential Piece of the Puzzle

Eduardo Aceituno’s journey with ASI can be characterized as a “student, turned fill-time” success story. Since beginning his employment with ASI in 2013 as a transfer student, his time with the organization has evolved into quite the rewarding one.
When Eduardo transferred to Long Beach State, he had never previously been involved in an organization as welcoming as ASI. As a student, he deeply enjoyed the flexibility of his IT job and ecstatically assumed the role of webmaster when he transitioned to full-time employment. Currently working as the web and applications developer for ASI, Eduardo manages all ASI websites and servers, builds web and mobile applications, supports software for several departments, and performs various other tasks his peers label as plain wizardry.
Eduardo’s favorite part of the job is knowing that everything he does has a meaningful impact on the students at large and those he works with directly. He supervises and works closely with students pursuing education in his field, often serves as a mentor. He loves seeing the success of his alums and hearing about how enriching their experience was while in ASI.
“Having fun is what college is all about, and when students embrace the culture of ASI and what we do, we can see their collegiate experience improve,” he said. “That’s something I am extremely proud of.”
Moreover, Eduardo is proud to work for an organization that allows him to implement innovative ideas and, in many respects, is outperforming its counterparts in higher education.
“I was very surprised and deeply gracious to be selected as the Essential Piece,” he said. “My work is usually behind the scenes; I’m honored to see my peers acknowledge the work I do to support our team on a daily basis.”
Eduardo Aceituno was awarded the Essential Piece of the Puzzle during the July ASI employee assembly. As a part of ASI’s commitment to uplifting customer service, each month all full-time staff participates and votes in this monthly employee of the month program.
