Ever wonder what your ASI president, vice president and treasurer are up to? Look no further than our new program, Take a Sec with the Execs!
The purpose of this program is for LBSU students to get to know their student leaders a little bit better. President Genesis Jara, Vice President Leen Almahdi and Treasurer Jesse Luna will all be out tabling at the Coffee Bean Plaza on Oct. 23 from 12:30 - 2 p.m. and on Nov. 27 from 2 - 3:30 p.m.
“Part of our job is to host town halls to connect with our constituents,” said Jara. “In the past, that literally has been a town hall complete with an Audio/Visual (AV) system with executives sitting at the front of the room in a panel-like discussion. Leen, Jesse and I decided that we didn’t really want to do it like that because that type of setting may automatically intimidate folks.”
The executives decided on hosting an informal meet-and-greet opportunity for students to stop by, have a cup of coffee and talk with them about what issues on campus they wanted addressed. Students even came up with questions that the executives could resolve right on the spot!
“We’re your executive officers and ASI is here to serve the students,” said Jara. “If anything does come up, please do not hesitate to reach out to any of us.”
