Burnt Umber
Burnt Umber is a family-owned all-year-round Victorian themed cafe located 8 minutes away from LBSU in Garden Grove. This is a perfect place to study for early morning goers! The drinks are named after references in Victorian literature or even classic rock. Thankfully, their friendly staff can help you choose a drink that best suits your taste buds! This place is one of the few places that offers flavored foam or cream caps that are oat milk based only. Their most popular drinks are the chocolate strawberry latte with strawberry foam and Harvest Moon latte.
Hours: Monday – Friday 6 a.m. - 4 p.m.
Saturday – Sunday 7 a.m. - 4 p.m.

The Merchant
The Merchant is 12 minutes from campus and offers a variety of outdoor and indoor seating. Their hipster-themed interior is covered in earth tones, amongst various styles of artwork plastered on the walls, perfect for a cozy hot latte. This place is mostly quiet, but they have workshops and events throughout the month for autumn events. Don’t forget to check out their delicious and affordable tiramisu or savor croissants if you get hungry!

Alder & Sage
Alder & Sage is a perfect brightly lit cafe for study groups to drop by and get some projects done! Their farmhouse mixed with modern interior is done with hues of orange and blue. Their most popular drink is the strawberry cold brew, but they currently offer their maple brown syrup latte for a limited time. They offer a full menu of food that ranges from $10 - $20.

Rad Coffee
The viral Rad Coffee opened a shop in Long Beach two years ago and now is a local favorite! Their dark yet neon-colored coffee shop is hard to miss. Inside, there are pinball machines and a merchandise section. At this coffee shop, seating is only available in their semi-outdoor patio. Rad Coffee is known for their blended drinks such as the Frankenstein, Dracula, and Peanut Butter Crunch, but their bestselling drink is the Spanish latte. This is a great place to get your spooky on!

The Library
This cozy vintage coffee shop and cafe will make you feel right at home. Their brick walls are surrounded by bookshelves, mismatched chairs, and soft lighting. It’s a perfect location for students to endure a fall ambience. Their bestselling drink is a hot Mexican Mocha which is perfect for a late afternoon of studying and catching up with homework.
