Frequently Asked Questions

TAP cards are free and can be obtained at the Cashier’s Office located on the first floor in Brotman Hall.

Visit the ASI Student Government Office located on the third floor of the University Student Union in Room USU-311.

Visit the university’s Center for Scholarship Information located on the second floor of the University Student Union in Room USU-238.

Visit the Student Life and Development Office in USU-215 or visit www.asicsulb.org/involve.

Visit the USU Conference and Events Center in Room USU-221 or visit www.asicsulb.org/conferenceandevents to book online; it’s FREE for students.

The After Hours Study Center is located in the West Wing of the USU, in Rooms USU 202 – 205. Students are allowed to take short 20 minute naps but no more.

The ASI Student Government Office is located on the third floor of the University Student Union in Room 311.

Visit the USU’s Robert C. Maxson Student Organization Center on the third floor of the USU in Room 312.

The university Technology Help Desk assists students with campus network and connectivity issues. They are located in Brotman Hall, Room 188 and can be contacted at (562) 985 – 4959.

Visit the Student Life and Development Office on the second floor of the USU in Room 215.

Boxes may be purchased in the Copy Center next to the Bookstore.

Wells Fargo customers can obtain postage stamps from the onsite bank, located in the USU second floor courtyard. The ASI Business Office (USU-229) and Copy Center in the Bookstore also have postage stamps for purchase.

The ASI Business Office (USU-229) offers notary public services by appointment only. You can reach them at (562) 985-4994.

Wells Fargo customers can obtain a money order from their on-campus bank located in the University Student Union second floor courtyard. You are not able to get a money order from the ASI Business Office.

The University Center for Undergraduate Advising (UCUA) is located in the Horn Center on lower campus near Lot 3 parking. For more information, call UCUA at (562) 985-4837. For graduate students, each department manages their own advising program.

Yes. Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) offers counseling for students and is located on the second floor of Brotman Hall in Room 226.

Disabled Student Services is located in Brotman Hall, Room 270.

The WPE is managed by the Testing, Evaluation & Assessment department located in Brotman Hall, Room 216. To register online, visit http://web.csulb.edu/divisions/students/testing/wpe/registration/.

The Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) is located LA1-119 and can be contacted at (562) 985-5637.

Students are typically exempt from paying for student plays, movies played on campus and athletic events as long as they go prepared to show their Student I.D. However, it’s recommended to check each program specifically.

Veterans Services is located in the Foundation Building in Room 220.

CCPE Student Services Center is located in the Foundation Building in Room 104.

Student IDs can be purchased at ID services in the Bookstore.

The Reflection Room offers a space for prayer and meditation, and is located on the third floor of the University Student Union in Room 308.

Student Life and Development verifies all posters and is located at USU-215.

Rooms 201 to 205 are located on the second floor of the University Student Union in the West Wing corridor near the USU Corner Market, After Hours Study Center and where you would see glass sliding glass doors when walking from Brotman Hall to the USU.

The U.S. Passport Application Acceptance Office is located in Brotman Hall Room 250. You can contact them by phone to schedule an appointment at (562) 985-7790 or visit them online at passport.csulb.edu.

The only full bank on campus is Southland Credit Union located in the USU Courtyard on the second floor. Other ATMs on campus include, LBS Financial Credit Union and Schools First Credit Union.

The Games Center offers locker rentals for a semester. Students are required to provide their own lock.

On campus computer labs can be found at the University Library, Horn Center, CBA 243, FCS, LAB 305 and ECS (must check schedule).

Students utilizing the USU After Hours Study Center may park in Lot 4 with a permit.

Student Health Services provides quality health services to all CSULB students. You can reach them at (562) 985-4771.

Color printing services are offered at the University Print Shop, CBA Computing Center, Horn Center and University Library.

Lactation rooms are located at the following locations:

  • ED-1 (Women’s Lounge inside the Women’s Restroom)
  • LA-5 2nd floor (Women’s Lounge inside the Women’s Restroom)
  • BH 1st/2nd/3rd floor (Women’s Lounge inside the Women’s Restroom)
  • USU 1st floor (USU 113LS next to the Beach Auditorium)

The CSULB Alumni Association is on the second floor of the Barrett Athletic Administration Center, next to the Walter Pyramid. You may reach them by phone at (562) 985-5252.

The Shark Lab is located in the Hall of Science Room 116 and 121a.

The Study Abroad program is located in Brotman Hall Room 201.
