As students, faculty and staff are aware, during spring 2020 CSULB announced a pause to all academic instruction starting Wednesday, March 11. Instruction continued to be on pause until March 23, at which time online instruction commenced for the remainder of the year and has been announced to continue through the fall semester. Due to these announcements, here are updates on how they will impact ASI services:
- Student Recreation & Wellness Center
Continues to be Closed Until Further Notice -- During the week of June 8, the state announced gyms and fitness facilities could begin to reopen if they met certain standards. Though our team has been working vigorously to clean, maintain, and implement safety protocols at the SRWC in hopes for your soon return, the Student Rec & Wellness Center is governed by additional levels of oversight, beyond the governor's orders which include the City, the University and the CSU. As we work with our partners in public health and in academia to refine a timeline for reopening, please continue to stay in touch. We will continue to provide updates here. If you have any questions in between messages, please feel free to email asi-srwc@csulb.edu and our membership team will be in touch shortly.
- University Student Union
Closed until further notice
- ASI Recycling Center
Closed permanently. For information on other recycling centers in the immediate area, please review a Cal Recycle's search system here.
- Isabel Patterson Child Development Center
Closed until further notice
- ASI Events
All ASI events are canceled for the semester – please see this email from ASI President Velasquez making the announcement on 3/13/20, though some items are now outdated
We apologize for this inconvenience; however, the health and safety of our members, students, staff, faculty and Long Beach community is our number one priority. We will keep you informed of additional updates as they become available.
