Picture this: You’re a motivated and conscientious individual looking for a space where you can advocate for your interests and amplify student needs. Sound like you? We thought so! Why not consider joining the Associated Student, Inc.’s (ASI) student government during the next academic year? If you are willing to put yourself out there, you might just find there’s a seat with your name on it at the decision table.
ASI elections season is upon us, and it is the ideal time to make your voice heard, connect with students, and ignite change within the campus community. Open positions include Associated Students (AS) president, AS executive vice president, AS vice president finance, AS senators and trustees-at-large for the University Student Union Board of Trustees.
Whatever your reason for getting involved may be, you can create a platform here at The Beach! We want YOU to run for a position within student government and we are excited to hear how you will make a meaningful impact at our university. Candidate applications are open starting on Jan. 24 and close at 5 p.m. on Feb. 18.
The time to put your name in the mix and on the ballot is now! Are you interested in applying for an elected role? Get more information on the elections process by attending one of the student government’s information sessions. You are welcome to come by, ask your questions and get a sense of what you can do as an elected ASI official.
