Making connections with other students can enhance your college experience. At The Beach, we have a variety of student activities for you to explore. Ever wondered how to get involved with student groups on campus? Let us at Associated Students, Inc. (ASI) help decode the process for you!
At our university, we have students from all over the world. With this broad collection of people, comes an exciting selection of clubs, conferences, organizations, events, activities and programs. For starters, there is a list of over 300 student clubs and organizations for you to check out on BeachSync.com.
There’s a group for everyone in the mix! Let's see...we have club sports, cultural organizations, fraternity and sorority life, community service groups, religious clubs, academic organizations, special interest clubs and professional societies to name some. Whatever you're looking for, there is sure to be that one great fit for your interests. And if you’re interested in starting your own club, you can do that too! Head over to csulb.edu/student-affairs/student-life-development to learn more.
Looking to try new things and have fun? We have just the thing! ASI’s Beach Pride Events (BPE) has a roster of interactive and group-friendly events for you to look through. Each semester BPE has a fun-packed line-up of events including speed friending, virtual movie screenings, movies on the house, paint and sip nights, cultural kick off celebrations and many more. Make sure to bookmark asicsulb.org/calendar to stay in the know about upcoming events, both virtual and in-person.
For the sports lovers out there, we didn’t forget you! We have Intramural sports and Esports teams for you to join. The Student Recreation and Wellness Center (SRWC) currently offers Tuesday night sand volleyball and flag football, Wednesday night open soccer, and Friday afternoon six versus six soccer leagues. Register for an Intramural team through the SRWC. Leagues begin on Feb. 28. And if you’re interested in more of an online gaming arena, the SRWC has Call of Duty: Warzone, Rocket League and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate tournaments. Sign up for a time slot on imleagues.com.
We look forward to helping you build a sense of community and belonging with your fellow students. And mark your calendar for ASI’s Spring Week of Welcome from Feb. 28 through March 3, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., in the Central Quad. Who knows, maybe you’ll find a student group that makes your weekly routine a little more exciting! Here’s to a year of meeting new people, whether that be in-person, or virtual.
