Smorgasport! Our annual school year kickoff carnival is back and bigger than ever.
Leading the school year in true festival style, Smorgasport 2016 will be packed with everything from student organizations, round-up rides, food trucks, inflatable games, dance performances and more!
Last year’s Smorgasport boasted an approximated attendance of just under 5,000 students, and has continued to grow each year. The carnival was first initiated 16 years ago as an alternative nighttime event for students to have fun at.
“It’s extremely entertaining!” exclaimed Lead Program Assistant Kaila Marie Hardaway. “I came as an attendee my freshman year with friends in my dorm, and ended up meeting a lot of people that night. It’s a great icebreaker event and there’s a ton to do!”
Students can expect plenty of good food, music and games, as well as plenty of free giveaways from visiting vendors and clubs. Club Sports will bring interactive sporting gear to attendees to use, and the Student Recreation & Wellness Center will bring hammocks, games and more to showcase their many resources.
Smorgasport will take place on Friday, September 2 from 7 to 11 p.m. in Parking Lot 3; directly in front of the USU. For more information on the event, visit www.asicsulb.org/smorgasport.
