Movies on the House

If you’re looking for something fun and free to do on a weeknight, Movies on the House may be the perfect option!

A series held each semester, Movies on the House is an opportunity for students to see free movie screenings in the USU Beach Auditorium. The films shown are generally newer and have not yet been released on DVD.

“It’s something fun that students can do in between classes or after they’re done for the day—just watch a movie!” exclaimed third year communications studies major and Beach Pride Programs Assistant Latifah Edobor.

Each film shows for two days at three different times: 3:30, 6 and 8:30 p.m. The series was kicked off this year with Central Intelligence on Sept. 7 and 8, starring Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart. Finding Dory was shown on Sept. 20 and 22, and the remaining schedule is as follows:

  • Oct. 5 & 6: The Purge: Election Year
  • Oct. 19 & 20: The Secret Life of Pets
  • Nov. 2 & 3: Bad Moms
  • Nov. 16 & 17: Suicide Squad

“If you’re on campus and bored, why not watch a movie for free?” asked Edobor. Students only need to bring their ID card to watch for free, and the cost for non-student guests is $5. Concessions will be available at the entrance.
