The Beach’s favorite carnival is back with an exciting twist – Smorgasport 2018! Ending summer festivities and kicking off the school year, this year’s sunset carnival will be taking place the Friday before school starts, August 24.
Stretching from Parking Lot E2 to the University Student Union (USU), Smorgasport is complete with a round-up ride and mega slide, popular inflatables and plenty of free carnival games and giveaways. Students can check out food trucks, dance at DJ stages and watch live student performances. The first 1,000 students to arrive get free T-shirts!
“Smorgasport is a great way to welcome new and returning students, enjoy free activities and giveaways, and most importantly connect with a bunch of people in lots of different ways!” exclaimed Beach Pride Program Assistant Jonathan Ibarra.
Smorgasport is free and open to all students, and will be taking place on August 24 from 7 p.m. to 12 a.m. in Parking Lot E2 and the USU. Grab your friends for one last hurrah before the school year starts, and kick off the year with Beach Pride!
