The spring 2016 semester has officially arrived, and to kick it off, ASI lined up a number of events to welcome you back onto campus!
This year, the University Student Union Program Council kicked off ‘Back to the Beach Week’ by pairing radio stations like Power 106, Real 92.3 and KIIS FM with engaging ctivities like tie-dye T-shirt making, a scavenger hunt, marble mud decorating and vision board-making.
“It was an opportunity to celebrate the transition from winter break to the semester, de-stress and get excited about the semester,” said event planner and communications studies major Megann Jenkins.
If you missed last week’s festivities, don’t worry because this week the ASI Programming Board is presenting the Spring 2016 Week of Welcome! Each semester, more than 200 clubs, student organizations and departments on campus showcase themselves at this biannual fair-like event.
This year, Week of Welcome will take place on Wednesday, Jan. 27, and Thursday, Jan. 28 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Central Quad on upper campus. If you’ve been looking for a way to get reconnected to the campus community, this event is for you.
“We want students to get familiar with organizations on campus and find out what resources are available to them,” said Jenkins. “Also, it’s a chance to make some friends! Week of Welcome is an all-inclusive event.”
