Long Beach, Calif. - Associated Students, Inc. (ASI) Beach Pride Events is presenting its annual Big Event on Friday, May 12 - a concert featuring Hip-Hop and R&B artists Jeremih and Ella Mai.
In past years, the ASI Big Event has packed the Walter Pyramid with entertainers like Trey Songz, Miguel and Wale. "This is always the biggest ASI event of the year!" exclaimed third year English major and Lead Program Assistant Kaila-Marie Hardaway. "It's a chance to give back to students after all their hard work, allowing them to celebrate and end the year with a bang. There's always a lot of hype and energy surrounding the event, but we're raising the bar this year with what will be an unforgettable, unmissable performance."
This year's lineup boasts big names, popular songs and electrifying performances. After signing to Def Jam Recordings in 2009, Jeremih quickly skyrocketed to fame with albums "Jeremih," "All About You" and "Late Nights." His catalogue boasts Billboard chart-topping songs like "Birthday Sex and "Down On Me," as well as Grammy-nominated "Planez" featuring J. Cole and iHeartRadio Music Award-winning song "Don't Tell Em" featuring YG.
Joining him on the Walter Pyramid stage is London-based R&B singer Ella Mai, who The FADER dubbed "The New Queen Of The Breakup Anthem" for her hit single "She Don't" featuring Ty Dolla Sign and produced by DJ Mustard. Her debut EP "Time" is amassing near-perfect reviews and was featured on OVO Sound and Beats 1 Radio.
The ASI Big Event will take place on Friday, May 12 in the Walter Pyramid. Doors will open at 6 p.m. Tickets will be available through the Walter Pyramid Box Office beginning Wednesday, May 3 at 10 a.m. For more venue and ticket info visit www.asicsulb.org/bigevent2017.
