Feeling overwhelmed this semester? It’s okay – many students are right there with you. The good news is, ASI has solutions!
Students’ primary ASI resource is Beach Balance, an amazing program that provides many well-being services ranging from massage therapy to nutrition counseling. Come to their office in the Student Recreation & Wellness Center (SRWC) to learn about your body through various self-assessment tools. Learn about how to eat right to maximize your energy and health, both physical and mental. You can also swing by their satellite office on the third floor of the USU to receive similar services and get a free chair massage to release those knots you’ve been building up since August.
Another resource to be aware of comes in the form of wellness events. These events, which occur throughout the semester, are designed to decrease your stress levels to allow you to focus on the important things in your life. Such events include Dog Therapy, Guided Meditation, Aromatherapy and much more.
Lastly, starting Monday, Oct. 21, ASI will join well-being partners across campus to promote Beach Wellness Week. The week will start with a kick-off event on the USU Southwest Terrace where campus partners will provide food, activities, information and resources for students. ASI will also be highlighting new services on the third floor of the USU which include USU Beach Balance, a new multi-stall all-gender restroom and a relocation of the ASI Beach Pantry
At the end of the day, it is okay to feel bogged down by the endless things on your plate, but be sure to utilize these resources to stay on top of your overall wellness. Remember, ASI is funded by students, and we want each one to get the most out of their time here at the Beach. We are here for you!
