This November, students from historically marginalized communities are encouraged to speak up, connect and embrace their identities at the upcoming Students of Color Conference. With the theme of “Rise & Resist,” this year’s conference will empower students to work across community lines in order to stand up against social injustices.
By the end of the conference, students can expect to have a deeper understanding of historical context, solidarity and community building. Through interactive workshops and a series of speakers from diverse disciplines, students will leave the conference equipped with the skills to take on social justice issues and become agents of meaningful change in society.
To RSVP for this conference click the “Register Here!” button at asicsulb.org/socc. The registration fee is $5, which includes breakfast and lunch. Students experiencing hardship are encouraged to submit a fee waiver request form before Oct. 25, which is also the last day to register.
The Students of Color Conference: Rise & Resist will take place on Nov. 2, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the USU Ballrooms. Register today to stand up for your community and express solidarity for others in the process.
