At the culmination of each academic year, our ASI president delivers an update on the organization and its efforts to stand by its mission of “Keeping Students First.” This vital tradition is meant to keep students informed on resources and initiatives ASI has invested time and effort in, all in the interest of meeting student needs. This is the State of the Associated Students address.

At Associated Students Inc, we’re dedicated to supporting your academic success, but our top priority is ensuring that every student feels cared for. While there are many resources available on campus, we offer several programs that are completely free for you to explore!

The gym and movement classes at the SRWC

The ideal times to visit are before 10:30 a.m. and after 4 p.m., as the facility can get crowded with students and athletes during peak hours

This spacious facility features weights and treadmills on both levels, ensuring you can find an open station. Whether you're focused on aerobics, cardio, or powerlifting, you'll have everything you need to reach your fitness goals. Our indoor track is perfect for speed walking while listening to a podcast or working on your mile times!

Some of the classes we offer include yoga, Pilates, Zumba, spinning and HIT! This semester we also have rock climbing classes for a limited time.

Don’t forget to bring a water bottle on your next visit! For more information check out asirecreation.org/calendar.

Pass the Plate

Classes that teach you how to cook can cost a pretty penny. Thankfully, Pass the Plate is a FREE cooking workshop on campus hosted by Sustain U. This semester has a three-part series featuring classes on how to do Lettuce Wraps, Cauliflower Tacos and Tofu Fried Rice! Make sure to RSVP with Events and Orgs.

FREE Menstrual pads and tampons

We know that menstrual products can be expensive, especially with unexpected circumstances or the pink tax. That's why the USU building provides FREE menstrual pads and tampons for your convenience.

Some of the other locations include Brotman Hall in room 270 and apart from that we have vending machines that use your BeachID at the Dance Pavilion, College of Business and in between the College of Liberal Arts and Lecture Hall. Please take as many as you need! Check out this link for a map of exact locations.

FREE GROCERIES

In case you didn’t know already, the Laurén Chalmers ‘83 Beach Pantry has FREE groceries for our students. Just bring your own bag, and we’ll also give you a stamp card to fill out to enter a contest for FREEBIES. For more information, check out asicsulb.org/beachpantry.

FREE Nutrition Counseling

Here is another FREE incentive from the SRWC’s Beach Balance starting on Sept. 30! We understand that maintaining a healthy diet while being a college student seems like two phrases that don’t compute. But we are ready to prove you wrong! Whether you want to lose weight, maintain a healthy weight or gain weight, this FREE incentive is here to help you.

For your first appointment make sure to schedule out 30 to 60 minutes, so the nutritionist can get to know you! For more information, check out asirecreation.org/beach-balance/nutrition-counseling.
