In just one day, you can make a difference in the lives of Long Beach State students. In just one day, a student might not go hungry. Another could realize his or her dream of studying in another corner of the world, and still others would benefit from additional scholarships and various needs of the university.
In just one day, we can show the community what we can accomplish if we all come together for one cause. In doing so, we can eliminate barriers for our students as they prepare for the future. On one day. With one goal.
On March 15, Long Beach State will be holding its first LB Giving Day, a 27-hour global fundraising drive that students, alumni and community supporters can show their "Beach Pride" and donate.
The focus for the inaugural LB Giving Day will be on generating support for Student Emergency Intervention and Wellness, Study Abroad, General Scholarships and Beach Fund.
Donations will be accepted online starting at 12 a.m. EST to 11:59 p.m., and on campus from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. during the Philanthropy Fair, which will feature Instagram giveaways, opportunity drawings, information booths and food trucks at the Fair.
SchoolsFirst Federal Credit Union has pledged to match up to $10,000 in LB Giving Day donations to the General Scholarship Fund, and the Forty-Niner Shops, Inc. will match up to $10,000 in donations to the Student Emergency Intervention and Wellness fund.
Save the date. Because together, we can make a difference and ensure no barriers to success in a short period of time for many students . On one day. For one goal.
