Did you know Long Beach was recently ranked the top city in the U.S. when it comes to weather? That’s right folks, you go to school in the city with the nicest days per calendar year!
It’s that time of year again: an abundance of all-nighters, countless cups of coffee and a flood of free Finals Week activities to help you finish well! “We’re here to help students relax, refuel and perform better,” said fifth year liberal studies major and Beach Pride Programs Assistant Jonathan Ibarra. “Students can do crafts or activities that help them clear their minds, de-stress and focus.”
You can grab some coffee and listen to your peers perform – or even get behind a mic yourself at this month’s Poet’s Lounge! Beach Pride Events hosts Poet’s Lounge throughout the year as a free open mic for students to share their poetry and spoken word art. All students are welcome to share any of their work or simply sit back and enjoy the show.
Although fall can be difficult to feel in Southern California, Beach Pride Events has plenty of opportunities for you to get into the fall spirit! First off, grab some friends and enjoy Spookville—a jam-packed, on-campus Halloween extravaganza! You can partake in classic Halloween activities like eyes-closed sensory games, painting pumpkins and mason jars, and enjoying a full-fledged pumpkin patch on campus.
