Week of Welcome is students’ best way to start out the New Year right! Each semester during the second week of classes, ASI Beach Pride Events hosts its biannual welcome-back department and student organization fair. With more than 300 student organizations on campus, there is something for everyone!
Whether you use the Student Recreation & Wellness Center (SRWC) to lose weight, gain mass, get tips from Beach Balance, or relax at the spa, you can turn your visits into free tuition by maintaining consistency at the SRWC. This November, students from historically marginalized communities are encouraged to speak up, connect and embrace their identities at the upcoming Students of Color Conference. With the theme of “Rise & Resist,” this year’s conference will empower students to work across community lines in order to stand up against social injustices.

You’re in luck, because the Farmers Market is back and bigger than ever! Come on down to Friendship Walk this Wednesday, Sept. 25 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to enjoy delicious food, refreshing beverages and a community atmosphere like no other.
Being a student at Long Beach State comes with a lot of perks! Thanks to ASI and Beach Pride Events, one of those perks is the Movies on the House event series. A new semester means a new set of movies for you to enjoy. All movies will be playing at 6 and 9 p.m. in the USU Beach Auditorium. These screenings are free for LBSU students and $5 for non-students!

ASI is proud to present a night filled with activism, entrepreneurship and inspiration with “An Evening With: Shiza Shahid!” Shiza Shahid is best known for her grassroots work with Malala Yousafzai -- the young Pakistani student who was shot for speaking out in favor of education for girls -- and the Yousafzai family in setting up the Malala Fund.
