Written by Jakki Padilla, Communications Student Assistant

Sustain U is an ASI programming department dedicated to helping Long Beach State University (LBSU) students learn about and adopt sustainable practices—both on campus and beyond—to support the longevity of our planet.

Our mission is to cultivate a culture of sustainability through hands-on learning experiences, including interactive workshops and gardening events.

Check out some of our recurring events throughout the semester and get a taste of life with a green thumb!

Trash Talkers ♻️

Trash Talker makes it easy and fun to learn about waste management on campus. We teach students everything they need to know about recycling, composting and throwing away trash properly and conveniently. Our certified Trash Talkers get hands-on experience, a cool t-shirt, and the skills to help make our campus more environmentally friendly. Join us to learn how simple changes in handling waste can make a big difference for our planet!

The next meetups are March 10 & 24, April 14 & 28 from 12 to 1 p.m. at the USU West Patio! For more information, visit asicsulb.org/calendar.
