We are excited to host this year’s Smorgasport after a two-year break! Join us for a free on-campus carnival experience! This event is open to current Long Beach State University (LBSU) students only.

What can you expect at Smorgasport? Let us tell you! Below is some of the fun you’ll experience:

  • Scat carnival ride
  • Sizzler carnival ride
  • Inflatables like bungee joust, obstacle courses and more!
  • Carnival games with prizes
  • Henna artists
  • Caricatures
  • Balloon twisting creations
  • Hair braiding and glitter
  • Photo booths
  • Food trucks
  • And more!

What do you need to bring?! Your LBSU student ID!

Students who are 18+ will be required to show their valid LBSU student ID and sign a "Waiver of Liability" upon check in. Students who are under 18 will be required to have a parent/guardian sign a “Waiver of Liability” on their behalf prior to the event and bring the signed copy with their LBSU student ID.

For the health and safety of all please stay home if you are sick, have symptoms of COVID-19 or if you are under isolation or quarantine orders.

FAQs

This event is free for all currently enrolled Long Beach State students. You do not need a ticket; however, you will need to sign a “Waiver of Liability” and show your LBSU student ID at check in to receive a wristband to participate in the activities.

No. This year’s Smorgasport is for currently enrolled LBSU students only.

We strongly recommend all participants attending the event wear a mask. All attendees are required to follow campus protocols and requirements for mask wearing at any given time on campus. For the latest updates reflecting campus public-health guidelines, please visit csulb.edu/covid-19.

Yes. If you are an enrolled LBSU student, please contact Beach Pride Events at asi-beachpride@csulb.edu to receive the Waiver of Liability form that your parent/guardian must sign on your behalf. You will be required to bring the signed form to check in at the event.

Please bring a printed and signed copy of this with you to the event. We will collect it from you at the event check-in and you will receive a wristband to participate in the event. A wristband is required to participate in all event activities. We recommend you use the DocuSign chicklet in your SSO account to have your parent/guardian sign this easily and electronically.

Yes. There will be “Waiver of Liability” forms at check-in on the day of the event. No need to sign anything before the event if you are 18+.

We highly encourage you not to bring bags or backpacks. There will be no storage locations and ASI and LBSU are not responsible for any lost or stolen items.

There are three check in locations:

  • Station 1: The entrance to parking lot E1 across from G4
  • Station 2: Beach Circle by College of Business
  • Station 3: First floor plaza in front of Brotman Hall by the flagpoles and entrance to parking lot E2

All attire must adhere to campus policy. Masks that cover an entire face are not permitted on campus. No weapons or prop weapons are permitted.

The first 500 students to check-in at station 1 (the entrance of parking lot E1 across from G4) and first 500 students at station 2 (Beach Circle) will receive a free T-shirt.

No. Parking permits will be enforced and are always required to park on campus.
