Description

Join the Student Recreation & Wellness Center's (SRWC) Rock & Outdoor Adventure (ROA) to learn technical rock climbing skills during free weekly classes! Dress ready to climb and move around as you put your skills to the test. All necessary climbing gear is provided by the SRWC's ROA department. Classes are in-person and are first-come, first-served, so make sure to arrive early!

Are you a seasoned climber and looking for more of a challenge? Custom/advanced climbing classes are available upon request for $17 per student, or $22 per non-student. For more information on our Advanced/Custom classes, please email us at rockandoutdooradventure@csulb.edu.

Do you want more one-on-one training experience? Technical climbing lessons or private instruction are available! If interested, please email rockandoutdooradventure@csulb.edufor more information.

Climbing 101 Intro to Movement
Sept. 22, Oct. 11, Oct. 13, Oct. 27 & Nov. 3
2 to 3 p.m.
Improve your climbing with tips on footwork, body positioning and energy conservation.

Climbing 201 Belay Basics
Sept. 12, Sept. 27, Oct. 20, Nov. 17 & Dec. 1
1 to 3 p.m.
Learn the basics! Join us for lessons on top-rope climbing, equipment, knots and belaying.

Climbing 301 Learn to Lead
Sept. 15, Sept. 29, Oct. 6, Oct. 25 & Nov. 14
1 to 3 p.m.
Develop your climbing skills to become a lead climber, or belayer in an indoor setting.

Prerequisite: Must be top-rope belay certified through the SRWC Rock Wall to attend.
