Long Beach is an eventful place to be year-round, and wintertime is no exception. If you’re going to be in town at all over the break, enjoy some special holiday activities!
Before you start, however, don’t forget to stay healthy. The Student Recreation & Wellness Center is open all break for no additional fee!
To celebrate in true holiday fashion, check out Winter Fest OC, the ultimate SoCal Winter extravaganza! Here, you can ice tube down a 150 ft. mountain, ice skate on SoCal’s largest outdoor ice rink, visit 20 carnival rides and attractions, and engage in much more.
You can also enjoy six different cultural Christmas traditions at CHILL Ice Adventure Park complete with an ice track, zip lining, nightly fireworks and more! It is open daily 4:30 to 11 p.m. at the Queen Mary from December 13 to January 7. Also at the Queen Mary, experience a thrilling New Year’s Eve celebration with fireworks and performances from Sir Mix-A-Lot, Selena tribute-band Los Chicos Del 512 and more!
The neighborhood at Naples boasts lavish, stunning light and ornament displays for your viewing pleasure all season. For a memorable experience, you can take a date or group of friends on Gondola Getaway, an hour-long cruise through the Naples canals.
No matter what time of year, you can always count on our city’s beautiful beaches for a fun and peaceful time. If you’re at Huntington, Dockweiler or Bolsa Chica, grab some friends and warm up with a bonfire too!
Catch up with friends or read a book over a warm cup of coffee at Lord Windsor, Steelhead Coffee, Recreational Coffee or another one of Long Beach’s many coffee shops.
And as always, your University Student Union will be open for you over break – so feel free to visit!
